Wine Room & Lounge is a sensorial hideaway at Duxton Hill, blending an intimate upstairs wine room with a livelier downstairs cocktail lounge — over 1,200 wine labels, creative cocktails, live jazz, soul and funk, and a refined yet unpretentious dining experience. We're looking for a Floor Captain to deliver attentive, polished service that matches the calibre of our wine and cocktail programme.
What You'll Do
- Greet and seat guests warmly, setting the tone for an intimate, elevated experience
- Take food, wine and cocktail orders accurately, with the ability to make simple recommendations or flag questions to the sommelier/bar team
- Serve food and beverages with precision and care, in keeping with temper's refined service standards
- Attend to guests throughout their visit, anticipating needs and handling requests with poise
- Set up and clear tables, maintaining a clean and elegant dining environment across both the wine room and lounge levels
- Process bills and payments accurately
- Work closely with the kitchen, bar and wine team to ensure seamless service
- Support service during live music sets and later evening hours, when the venue's energy shifts
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience as a waiter/waitress or in F&B service, ideally in a fine dining, wine bar, or upscale lounge setting
- Polished, warm, and guest-focused demeanour
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced yet refined environment, including evenings with live entertainment
- Good communication skills; an interest in wine and cocktails is a strong plus
- Willing to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, given temper's later operating hours
Work Schedule
- 5-day work week, 44 hours/week. Overtime pay for hours beyond 44/week
