The Plate Collector is responsible for ensuring that tables are cleared promptly, dining areas remain clean and hygienic, and used crockery is properly handled and transferred to the washing area.

Job Responsibilities

* Collect used plates, bowls, cups, cutlery and other dining utensils from tables after meals.
* Clear and clean dining tables promptly after customers finish eating.
* Sort used plates, bowls and cutlery properly before sending them for washing.
* Scrape leftover food into the designated food-waste bin.
* Ensure all dining areas are kept clean, neat and hygienic at all times.
* Assist the kitchen/dishwashing staff with the washing and cleaning of crockery when required.
* Return clean plates, bowls, cups and cutlery to their designated storage areas.
* Refill dining supplies such as tissues, utensils and drinking cups when necessary.
* Wipe down tables, chairs and surrounding areas after meals.
* Dispose of rubbish and food waste according to the centre’s procedures.
* Report any broken, chipped or damaged crockery to the supervisor immediately.
* Follow proper food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety practices.
* Assist with other cleaning and dining-area duties as assigned by the supervisor.
