Job Summary
The Bartender / Bar Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring beverages are prepared and served consistently, efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
This is a hands-on role that requires the individual to work actively behind the bar while taking responsibility for bar organisation, stock control, cleanliness, preparation and the performance of the bar team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and company standards.
Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, portioning and speed of service.
Ensure the bar is properly set up, stocked and fully prepared before each service.
Supervise, guide and support bartenders and other team members assigned to the bar.
Coordinate closely with the floor team to ensure beverages are prepared and delivered promptly.
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic bar area at all times.
Monitor bar stock levels and ensure sufficient stock is available for daily operations.
Conduct and assist with stock counts, inventory control, ordering and stock movement.
Monitor wastage, breakages and stock discrepancies, and report any irregularities to management.
Ensure proper storage, rotation and handling of wines, spirits, beverages, garnishes and other bar ingredients.
Check the condition and cleanliness of glassware, bar equipment and tools.
Carry out opening and closing duties according to established procedures.
Ensure bar equipment is used correctly and report faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
Engage with guests professionally and provide beverage recommendations when required.
Handle guest feedback relating to beverages professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene, workplace safety and responsible alcohol service requirements.
Support the restaurant floor and wider Front-of-House operation when required.
Assist with training and coaching
