Responsibilities (Kitchen Assistant)
- Prepare basic food items including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting of raw ingredients
- Portion and pack cooked food and pack meals according to standards
- Assist with preparation and packing of tea break items and beverages
- Conduct pre-cooking checks, prepare raw materials for upcoming meals, and ensure proper labelling and FIFO storage
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, equipment, and surrounding areas, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
- Handle kitchen equipment properly and adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene SOPs
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by being open to learning, improving work processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Responsibilities (Cook)
- Prepare, cook, and present food according to approved recipes and quality standards
- Conduct pre-cooking checks and ensure raw materials meet food safety requirements
- Portion, plate, pack, and provide quality service during serving
- Collect food samples and operate/record hot holding cabinets and food warmers
- Supervise kitchen assistants and guide food preparation as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and workstations, adhering to hygiene and food safety SOPs
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by being open to learning, improving processes, and supporting continuous kitchen improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of working experience in a kitchen or similar role
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen SOPs
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Able to perform physical tasks to carry loads of at least 10 kg and able to stand for long hours (up to 8 hours)
- Positive attitude with a growth mindset, willing to learn and improve continuously
Others
- Working hours: 6 days work week (including weekend and public holiday); 8 hours rotating shifts between 5am to 6pm
- Working locations: Simei / Henderson / Bedok / Jurong West
