Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present food according to established recipes, quality, portion and presentation standards.
- Complete assigned mise en place and food preparation accurately and within the required timeframe.
- Handle and store ingredients correctly, ensuring freshness, proper labelling, temperature control and FIFO practices.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation.
- Use knives, kitchen equipment and tools safely and correctly.
- Follow instructions from Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and culinary leaders.
- Work efficiently with the kitchen team during preparation and service.
- Minimise food wastage through proper preparation, handling, storage and portion control.
- Report food quality, equipment or maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain professional grooming, conduct and punctuality.
- Attend required training and demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning.
- Work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays according to operational requirements.
Job Requirements
- Culinary qualification or relevant professional training preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a hotel, restaurant or professional kitchen preferred.
- Experience in Japanese, Western or Chinese cuisine is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, sanitation and food safety.
- Basic knife skills and ability to handle common kitchen equipment.
- Able to identify and handle common ingredients and raw materials.
- Able to follow recipes and food presentation standards.
- Good teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
