We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Commis Cook to join our Korean noodle shop. You will support the kitchen team in food preparation, cooking and daily kitchen operations while ensuring food quality, consistency and hygiene standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook Korean noodle dishes and other menu items according to standard recipes.
- Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, garnishes, sauces and toppings.
- Assist with preparation of broths, soup bases, sauces and condiments.
- Cook and portion noodles, toppings and other ingredients during service.
- Ensure food quality, portioning and presentation are consistent.
- Set up and maintain kitchen stations before, during and after service.
- Replenish ingredients and supplies during operations.
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients.
- Follow proper food storage, labelling and stock rotation procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, equipment and storage areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
- Minimise food wastage and handle ingredients responsibly.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Carry out other kitchen duties assigned by the Chef or Outlet Manager.
Requirements
- Basic kitchen or cooking experience preferred.
- Experience with Korean cuisine or noodle preparation is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
- Willing to learn Korean cooking techniques and recipes.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsible, punctual and a good team player.
- Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
- Candidates without prior Korean cuisine experience are welcome to apply as training will be provided.
