Management Trainee – Sales (Tobacco Industry)
Full-Time | Singapore Employment with Long-Term Assignment in India
Reports to: Head of Sales, Singapore
Open to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents.
We are looking for an independent and resourceful candidate to support our client’s tobacco flavour and fragrance business expansion in India.
This is a field-based international sales role. The successful candidate will receive training in Singapore before being assigned to India for most of the year. Travelling in pairs with a local business partner, you will visit Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations across India to meet tobacco manufacturers, distributors, contractors and small-scale producers. Periodic returns to Singapore are required for reporting, training and business reviews.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and visit potential customers and tobacco manufacturers across India.
• Introduce tobacco flavor products, distribute samples and understand customer requirements.
• Develop relationships with factory owners, manufacturers, distributors, contractors and intermediaries.
• Follow up on product testing, customer feedback, pricing discussions and business opportunities.
• Conduct market visits and prepare customer visit and market reports for the Head of Sales.
Requirements
• Diploma or degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, Food Science, Physics or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years’ experience in sales, business development, customer service or market research preferred; fresh graduates are welcome.
• Fluent Hindi is required for communicating with customers and business contacts in regional and rural areas of India.
• Basic Mandarin speaking and reading ability is required to handle procurement documents and communicate with the China management team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
