Key Responsibilities
- Support the head chef, cooks ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards.
- Assisting the Cook and Head Chef with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat.
- Ensure the quality of food items according to the standards in place. It includes ensuring all food items are in a perfect sanitary condition and applying the “First in First out” best kitchen practice.
- Monitor the production of food items to ensure they comply with the prescribed recipes and specifications.
- Adhere to all the standards of food presentation, production, and portioning controls.
- Wash and appropriately store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.
- Ensure safe and proper use of equipment at all times and give guidance to all culinary colleagues.
- Sweep and mop the kitchen floors and wipe down kitchen walls.
- Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
