We are looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to oversee site operations, coordinate construction activities, and ensure projects are completed according to schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site operations and coordinate site workers and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work meets quality and schedule requirements.
- Plan ahead to resolve site issues and minimise delays and additional costs.
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Manage material requisitions, site purchases, and equipment rentals.
- Coordinate contract changes and follow up on customer feedback or complaints.
- Enforce workplace safety requirements and conduct regular site safety inspections.
- Ensure Risk Assessments, safe work procedures, and safety briefings are properly implemented.
- Identify workplace risks and implement measures to prevent accidents and environmental impact.
- Stop unsafe work when necessary and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or in a similar construction role.
- Degree in a relevant engineering or construction discipline.
- Strong site coordination, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of construction processes, contract administration, and site safety requirements.
- Able to manage subcontractors, coordinate with stakeholders, and meet project deadlines.
