Job Summary
The Station Chef is responsible for operating a designated live-cooking station within Marché, delivering high-quality, freshly prepared dishes in line with the brand’s “Swiss Marketplace” concept. The role requires strong culinary skills, customer interaction, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards to ensure an outstanding dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook food items according to Marché recipes and standards
- Operate assigned stations (e.g. Grill, Pasta, Rösti, Salad, Pizza) efficiently
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet company standards
- Monitor stock levels and ensure proper food rotation (FIFO)
Customer Engagement
- Interact with guests at live stations, explaining menu items and cooking methods
- Take orders and customise dishes according to guests’ preferences
- Deliver friendly, engaging, and professional service
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Maintain strict compliance with NEA food safety regulations and company SOPs
- Ensure cleanliness of workstation, tools, and kitchen equipment
- Adhere to personal hygiene standards at all times
Operations & Efficiency
- Set up and close down station according to operational requirements
- Work closely with team members to ensure smooth service flow
- Minimise food wastage and support cost control initiatives
Teamwork & Support
- Assist in other kitchen areas when required
- Participate in training and development programmes
- Support new staff onboarding and guidance when needed
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant kitchen or cooking experience (F&B preferred)
- Experience in live station / open kitchen concept is an advantage
- Basic food hygiene certification (e.g. Food Safety Course Level 1)
- Good communication skills; able to interact with customers
- Team player with a positive and energetic attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and during weekends/public holidays
