Mechanical Design Engineer (Sheet Metal)
Location: Kallang, Singapore
Salary: SGD 3,300–3,800/month
Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–6pm
Responsibilities:
• Design sheet metal parts using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications and technical records.
• Select materials based on performance, manufacturability and cost.
• Coordinate with production on design feasibility and fabrication.
• Support NPI, reverse engineering and product development.
• Assist with inspections, testing and quality documentation.
• Liaise with sourcing, purchasing, sales and suppliers.
• Maintain BOMs, design revisions and engineering data in PLM/SAP/MES; resolve discrepancies.
• Manage concurrent projects to meet deadlines.
Requirements:
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred. Experienced applicants without formal qualifications are welcome.
• Relevant sheet metal experience and consistent work history.
• Knowledge of bending, laser cutting, welding and sheet metal materials.
• Proficient in CAD/CAM; able to interpret drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• AMADA and Lean Manufacturing knowledge (Kaizen/VSM) are advantages.
