Key Responsibilities
Lens Edging & Assembly
- Operate lens edging machines to cut and shape lenses according to frame specifications
- Assemble lenses into frames accurately and securely
- Conduct quality checks to ensure prescription accuracy, lens alignment, and finishing standards
- Troubleshoot minor edging or fitting issues
Quality Control
- Verify lens prescriptions against job orders before and after edging
- Inspect frames and lenses for defects or damage
- Ensure all completed jobs meet company quality and safety standards
Inventory & Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain proper handling and storage of lenses and frames
- Monitor inventory levels of lenses, tools, and consumables
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of edging machines
- Report equipment faults or technical issues promptly
Operational Support
- Ensure timely processing of orders to meet service turnaround time
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab area
- Support opticians and retail team when required
Requirements
- Minimum Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in lens edging or optical lab operations preferred
- Comfortable handling technical equipment and machinery
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in manual work
- Able to work in a fast-paced retail environment
- Team player with good communication skills
