The Services required are set out as follows:
Technical Executives (TES) supporting the School of Design & Environment (DE) provide technical support for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes, including the following responsibilities:
• Provide technical and instructional support for laboratory, design studio and workshop sessions for PET and CET modules.
• Assist lecturers with equipment demonstrations, experiments, practical classes and assessments, including evening CET classes.
• Prepare and set up laboratories, workshops, equipment, software and student lab kits before each semester.
• Carry out basic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of equipment and coordinate with external vendors when required.
• Manage inventory, stocktaking, equipment utilisation reports and maintenance records.
• Ensure laboratory computers have the required operating systems, drivers and application software, including standard imaging and validation.
• Assist with procurement, quotations, vendor coordination and delivery of equipment/consumables.
• Maintain accurate equipment, software, repair and vendor
documentation.
• Support the operation and supervision of laboratory equipment and attend relevant training.
•
Act as a Fire Warden and participate in fire safety exercises.
• Support student societies as a resource person, including venue booking, event setup, dismantling and equipment storage.
• Provide manpower support for DE events such as Open House, Joint Admission Exercise, Early Admission Exercise, Poly Experience, RED Camp and Graduation Showcase.
Support weekend/Saturday events when required.
Assist with transporting and setting up equipment at external event venues.
Requirements
Fire Safety Lab or Fire Safety Management (FSM) qualification is required
