Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and comfortable environment for residents in the nursing home.
- Carry out daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning bathrooms and toilets, floors, furniture, fixtures and other common areas.
- Make residents’ beds and ensure rooms and bed areas are kept neat, clean and comfortable.
- Attend to residents’ needs and concerns promptly, and report any issues affecting their safety, comfort or well-being to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with cleaning utensils, dining areas and other designated areas.
- Collect, sort and launder residents’ linens, garments and other washable items, including sluicing of soiled linen where required.
Job Requirement:
- Physically fit and able to perform housekeeping duties in a nursing home environment.
- Comfortable working with elderly residents and able to provide assistance in a caring and respectful manner.
- Able to follow instructions, safety procedures and hygiene standards.
- Responsible, reliable and attentive to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
