Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy laboratory environment at all times, ensuring that all apparatus, equipment, materials, and specimens are in good working condition and ready for use. Promptly report faulty machines and equipment to the relevant supervisor and label defective items with an “Out of Order” sign until repairs are completed. Ensure the proper disposal of broken glassware and other damaged items in accordance with safety procedures and regulations. Conduct regular inspections of Bunsen burners and high-risk equipment, such as data loggers and microscopes, and ensure they are securely stored under lock and key after use. Maintain updated stock books and breakage records, identify items requiring replacement, and report them to the relevant supervisor promptly. Regularly check and replenish first aid supplies to maintain adequate stock levels. Assist Science teachers in preparing materials and equipment for lessons and clearing laboratory apparatus after lessons. Perform any other duties assigned by the Science Head of Department (HOD).
