Main Responsibilities
1. Workplace Safety Management
Ensure all work activities comply with applicable Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and site safety requirements.
Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
Ensure workers comply with safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements.
2. Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedures
Assist in preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Method Statements.
Identify potential hazards associated with equipment installation, fabrication, lifting, working at height, and material handling.
Recommend appropriate control measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
3. Permit-to-Work (PTW) Management
Assist with PTW applications and ensure the required permits and approvals are obtained before work starts.
Verify that safety precautions and permit conditions are implemented on-site.
Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with permit requirements.
4. Safety Briefings and Training
Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
Ensure workers attend the required safety inductions and training.
Communicate site safety requirements, emergency procedures, and potential hazards to workers.
5. Workplace Inspection and Monitoring
Monitor work activities, including equipment installation, scaffolding, lifting operations, and electrical work.
Ensure proper housekeeping and safe storage of tools and materials.
Check that safety equipment, barricades, warning signs, and PPE are properly used.
6. Incident Reporting and Investigation
Report workplace accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the relevant personnel.
Assist in incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
7. Coordination with Site Management
Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, contractors, and client safety personnel.
