Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Cake Chef to join our Central Kitchen team. As a key member of our production line, you will be responsible for crafting Paris Baguette’s signature cakes. This role is ideal for a professional with a mastery of icing and frosting techniques who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining boutique-level quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Expert Icing & Finishing: Execute professional-grade icing, masking, and piping for a wide range of cakes (fresh cream, buttercream, and ganache) with speed and precision.
- Mass Production: Assist in the daily large-scale production of sponge cakes, fillings, and decorative elements according to brand standards.
- Consistency & Quality Control: Ensure every cake meets Paris Baguette’s aesthetic and taste specifications. Conduct regular checks on texture, appearance, and weight.
- Station Management: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to SFA (Singapore Food Agency) food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Inventory & Wastage: Monitor ingredient stock levels and minimize wastage through efficient preparation and portioning.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a professional bakery or central kitchen. Specialized experience in cake decoration/icing will be preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong foundation in fresh cream handling and smooth masking.
- Proficiency in various piping techniques (borders, floral, lettering).
- Ability to work with industrial-grade baking equipment.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and standing for long periods.
- Mindset: Team player with a positive attitude and a keen eye for detail.
- Availability: Willingness to work on shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and Public Holidays.
