The Commis Cook supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality food preparation and presentation in accordance with established standards and recipes. This role ensures consistency, hygiene compliance, and operational readiness within the assigned kitchen section while contributing to a smooth and efficient daily service.
Job Description
Food Preparation & Production:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes, portioning, and plating standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all dishes.
- Support mise en place preparation and maintain readiness for service operations.
Kitchen Operations & Hygiene:
- Maintain cleanliness of the assigned kitchen section.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations in line with company and local authority standards.
- Adhere strictly to HACCP and workplace safety guidelines.
Team Support & Collaboration:
- Assist the Section Chef in meeting daily operational requirements and service demands.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth coordination during service.
- Support inventory management, stock rotation (FIFO), and minimise food wastage.
Key Requirements
- Certificate in Culinary Skills or equivalent professional qualification.
- Preferably minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the F&B industry. Experience with QSR/ Baking establishment will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to withstand hot humid environment
