Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase raw materials, production supplies, equipment and general company requirements.
- Identify, evaluate and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Request and compare quotations to obtain competitive pricing and favourable purchasing terms.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up on order confirmations.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate purchasing requirements with the production and warehouse teams.
- Ensure materials and goods are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards.
- Follow up on delayed, incorrect or damaged deliveries.
- Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and documentation.
- Assist with cost control and identify opportunities to reduce purchasing expenses.
Requirements
- Diploma or relevant qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
- Previous experience in purchasing or procurement is preferred.
- Good negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work under pressure.
