Role Overview
A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indonesian dishes, particularly penyet-style meals where ingredients are freshly fried and smashed with sambal. The role requires efficiency, consistency in taste, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sets up stations according to outlets’ guidelines.
- Prepare, cook food and present food effectively and efficiently, meeting the Company’s standard.
- Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards as set by the Company.
- Ensure compliance to regulatory of food safety, quality, health and hygiene standards at all times.
- Proper labelling of all food items after preparation, maintaining stock level of all products and ensuring correct rotation by FIFO.
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that the standards are met.
- Assist in keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy always.
- Maintain good personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in the workplace.
- Report on time, in proper uniform and grooming standards.
- Assists in other ad hoc duties as and when required.
Requirements:
- Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders efficiently.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to stand for long hours and work in a hot kitchen environment.
