Job Description: Kitchen Helper

Position: Kitchen Helper
Industry: Food & Beverage (F&B)

Assist in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, washing, cutting, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, food preparation areas, utensils, and equipment.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and halal food-handling procedures in accordance with the kitchen's requirements.
Assist cooks and chefs with basic cooking and food preparation duties when required.
Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of food ingredients to maintain freshness and prevent cross-contamination.
Wash and sanitise kitchen utensils, equipment, and workstations.
Assist with receiving, checking, and storing incoming food supplies.
Follow the kitchen's standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with workplace safety requirements.
Support the kitchen team during peak operating hours and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Have prior working experience in a MUIS-certified halal kitchen in Singapore, with familiarity in halal food-handling procedures.
Familiar with kitchen hygiene standards and food safety practices.
Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and food safety procedures.
Able to perform kitchen duties that require prolonged standing and physical activity.
Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and as part of a team.
Responsible, hardworking, disciplined, and willing to learn.
Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Previous experience in restaurants, catering kitchens, central kitchens, or institutional kitchens.
Familiarity with halal kitchen SOPs and measures to prevent cross-contamination.
Able to commence work at short notice would be an advantage.
