Two tracks: start as Coneman (3-6 months), then progress to Lashing Specialist, or stay on Coneman permanently if not comfortable with heights.
Coneman duties: fix/remove twist locks; prepare lashing gear; assist berthing/unberthing & bunkering; plug/unplug reefers; handle spreaders; follow safety SOPs & report incidents.
Lashing Specialist (additional): perform onboard lashing/unlashing; position & secure containers on vessel; wear full PPE incl. harness & life jacket.
Requirements
- PSLE w/ English (Grade C / N(A) 5 / N(T) D) or WPLN Level 4
- Physically fit for 12-hr shifts, incl. prolonged standing
- No driving licence required
- Comfortable with heights for Lashing track; Coneman available otherwise
Training & Bond
- 1-week induction (7:30am start)
- WAH course for Lashing track (own cost)
- iPass processing: up to 14 days, subject to PSA approval
- Medical fee $35 reimbursed after probation
- 6-month bond: $1,000 (Coneman) / $2,000 (Lashing)
